Development Initiatives to step down after highly successful period as Global Nutrition Report Host

During DI's role as Host it has supported the Global Nutrition Report to grow from strength to strength through the provision of coordination, data analysis, production, engagement and communications expertise.

Following the adoption of the GNR's new Charter in 2022, the GNR's governance is evolving, bringing changes to the role required of the Host. These changes coincide with the launch of DI’s new organisational strategy, which sees the organisation taking a more prominent role in nutrition research and policy. Therefore, in 2023, DI will step down to pursue its own new programme of work and give the GNR full flexibility to re-develop the Host role.

Shawn Baker, Co-Chair of GNR’s Stakeholder Group, said: “DI has had a major impact as Host for the GNR over the last five years. DI has been instrumental in strengthening the GNR’s brand, led the launch of several major reports, created digital tools to bring the GNR’s data to life, and played a critical part in the development of the Nutrition Accountability Framework. We are tremendously grateful for all the team has contributed and look forward to working with them as an ally on nutrition in the future.”

Claudia Wells, Director of DI’s International Hub, said: “It has been such a privilege to be part of the Global Nutrition Report since 2017, seeing it go from strength to strength and increasing its important role in the global fight against malnutrition. We believe passionately that the GNR will continue to play a critical role in addressing the global nutrition crisis. We will always support the GNR in its efforts to drive greater action on malnutrition.”

PATH were awarded the role of host as of May 2023.
