DI's Mariam Ibrahim will be arriving in Dubai, UAE, in time for the Global Conference on Gender and Environment Data. You can watch the conference live here.

Wednesday 29 November: Pre-COP

Global Conference on Gender and Environment Data (all day, Expo City Dubai)

Mariam will be speaking on the need to improve gender and environment data ecosystems at this pre-COP event. Bringing together a wide range of stakeholders at the intersection of climate and gender, the conference will result in a Global Call to Action on Gender and Environment Data.

Saturday 2 December: World Climate Action Summit

High-level event: 'Adaptation finance for commercial banks operating in emerging and developing markets' (9am–10.30am, Resilience Hub)

Mariam will be attending this high-level event hosted by the President of Mozambique and led by the United Nation's Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) and the African Union Commission (AUC).

Panel discussion: 'Raising adaptation finance in Africa by more than double' (3.30pm–5pm, UCLGA Pavilion)

Co-organised by the Pan African Climate Justice Alliance (PACJA), Africa Adaptation Initiative (AAI) and Africa Green Climate Fund National Designated Authority Network (AFDAN), this side event will look at:

• Current trends in adaptation finance to Africa
• How to mobilise and deliver better adaptation finance for Africa by increasing stakeholder dialogue and collaboration
• Actions and recommendations for improving the quantity and quality of this finance to ensure it reaches the most in-need sections of African society.

DI's Martha Bekele will be a panel member for this event, speaking alongside a range of government, private sector, civil society and development stakeholders.

Sunday 3 December: Health/Relief, Recovery and Peace

UN Women official side event: 'Gender-responsive climate action: building evidence for change' (9am–10.30am, UNCCD Pavilion)

Mariam will be attending this event at the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD's) Land & Drought Resilience Pavilion. Hosted by UN Women, it will feature the launch of the agency's 'Feminist climate justice: A framework for action' conceptual framework. The event will be broadcast live on UNCCD's YouTube channel.

IIED event: 'Mutual accountability and locally led adaptation metrics' (10am, LDC Pavilion)

DI is attending. Hosted by the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), this learning event will "bring together lessons and insights around how to measure locally led adaptation and promote mutual accountability."

Launch of guiding climate x humanitarian financing principles (9.30am–11am, Presidential Pavilion)

DI is attending.

Panel discussion: Building climate-resilient health systems (10.15am–10.50am, Expo City Dubai)

DI is attending. Hosted by the Reaching the Last Mile Forum, this event will take a closer look at the increasing pressure on healthcare systems caused by disease, conflict and uncertainty. Focusing on the role played by community healthcare workers, the panel will discuss what has and hasn't proved effective in the delivery of equitable healthcare, particularly to last-mile communities.

Presentation: Uganda's VAA and H-NAP (11.30am–12.50pm, Uganda Pavilion)

DI is attending. A presentation of Uganda's health, climate change, vulnerability and adaptation assessment (VAA) and the country's Health National Adaptation Plan (H-NAP).

AFRO/EMRO Regional Consultation Forum (1.30pm–2.35pm, WHO Pavilion)

DI is attending.

Climate finance accountability gathering (6pm–7.30pm, Movenpick Hotel, Jumeirah Lake Towers)

Martha and Mariam will be attending this informal gathering on the sidelines of COP to carry on the conversation on climate finance accountability and transparency.

Thursday 7 December: Day of Rest

Event: 'Food security for tomorrow: Leveraging cross-sector partnerships in a changing climate' (8am–9.30am, Warehouse 4)

DI is attending. Hosted by Devex in partnership with the Hayel Saeed Anam (HSA) Group, this event will look at the role of cross-sector partnerships in addressing urgent food insecurity crises and building more resilient food systems.

Sunday 10 December: Food, agriculture and water/final negotiations

Panel discussion: 'Creating a fund of funds: paving the path beyond a loss and damage fund' (3pm–4pm, ICC Partners Stage, Thematic Arena 3)
