SDGs Kenya Forum: Data Ecosystem Mapping Consultancy, Terms of reference
An opportunity to help the SDGs Kenya Forum strengthen the uptake of citizen-generated data, improve reporting on SDGs, and enable better decision-making and policy formulation.

The SDGs Kenya Forum is an inclusive membership national platform and a convener on the 2030 agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It provides space for structured and coordinated civil society organisation (CSOs) engagement with (national and subnational) governments, citizens, the private sector, media, academia and development partners. The forum engages with the Government of Kenya and all stakeholders involved in the implementation, review and follow up on 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals. Development Initiatives (DI) hosts the SDGs Kenya Forum Secretariat.
The Forum seeks a consultant or team of consultants to conduct a data ecosystem mapping for Kenya. This will
- Explore data collected by official and non-official data producers, tools and methodologies used for data collection and the main data producers (and users) of the data.
- Perform an in-depth analysis of data for six SDGs (8, 9, 10, 11, 13 and 16).
- Focus both on the national and on the county level (specifically Siaya, Taita-Taveta and Meru counties).
- Work towards an integrated multi-stakeholder approach to SDG monitoring in Kenya based on the mapping exercise.
- Establish emerging issues and further recommendations for ensuring better data production and use in Kenya.
