Our team supports project teams to be as efficient as possible to achieve DI’s objectives. This support includes ensuring systems and processes across HR, finance, facilities and IT are operating properly and providing training. We also play a key role in helping information to flow within the organisation, facilitating evidence based decision making and resource allocation.
Due to the often technical and complex matters within our fields of specialism, we also play a role in keeping DI robust, maintaining its high ethical standards and ensuring the funds entrusted to us by our donors are applied to best achieve our aims.
Each area of expertise within our team has a clear specialism, from the technical accounting knowledge of finance, to the recruitment and personnel management of HR, to the technical knowhow of IT. As small teams of experts within the organisation, we place a special value on the skills which enable us to work collaboratively. These are essential for us to best communicate with the project members we’re supporting, understand their needs and provide them with training, guidance and information.
Working across the organisation gives us an immensely varied and interesting workload. We are highly organised and committed, and work together as a team with all members having a high level of personal accountability.
Our focus is to provide our colleagues with what they need in the least amount of time required, such that they can maximise their focus on producing the organisation’s outputs. This is best achieved when we can get things right first time, so we have a strong focus on delivering quality work. With this, and frequent need to advise on confidential matters, we maintain strong professional standards. We don’t let that make us stuffy and boring though, and are a friendly and approachable team!
