What I do: As Interim Financial Accountant, I oversee the production of accounting information for all of DI while the Head of Finance is on sabbatical leave. This includes:
Managing four finance staff, across the UK and Kenya
Ensuring the organisation meets its financial statutory obligations (e.g. statutory audit, tax and VAT)
Assisting the wider organisation personnel with their financial and reporting queries
Managing the implementation and upkeep of the 2021 budget and forecasts
Reporting of financial results to the executive team and the Board.
Previous experience: I am a qualified accountant with 17 years' post-qualification experience. Six of these have been spent within practice, and 11 in senior financial management roles for complex businesses. I have extensive experience of both financial and operational management, and of finance business partnering within the manufacturing, distribution, power, service, and multi-outlet retail sectors, not-for-profit entities and within franchising. I have strong transferable skill sets in finance business partnering, business management, cashflow and treasury management, management information control, budgeting, forecasting and management accounting and reporting.
