Wendy Thomas
IATI Technical Lead
Where I am based: Bristol, UK
What I do: I lead the Technical Team for the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI), a global initiative to improve transparency of development and humanitarian aid. I represent Development Initiatives on the IATI Secretariat, manage a team of developers and business & data analysts, and ensure that the IATI Standard and our suite of technical tools are fit for purpose and that publishers and users of IATI data get the support they need.
Previous experience: Before coming to Development Initiatives, I spent 14 years at the Environment Agency, leading on metadata, data flow mapping and information resources; I also managed its Open Data Project. My previous experience includes over 20 years in academic and research libraries, managing reference and archival services at Harvard University, the New York Public Library, and London’s Women’s Library. Outside of work, I am a county councillor in Gloucestershire.
