Where I am based: Brasília, Brazil
What I do: I am an independent consultant, providing strategic support to charities, think tanks and international organisations and undertaking research and report writing on international development and politics. At DI, my focus is on supporting the development of strategies to increase the use of data for evidence-based decision-making and better accountability.
Previous experience: I was the Managing Director of Publish What You Fund, the global campaign for transparency in development finance, during the period when the majority of bilateral aid agencies started publishing information about their activities to the IATI standard. Prior to that, I was a Senior Lecturer in International Development at Leeds University for thirteen years, focusing among other things on food security and governance. I hold MA degrees in History from Oxford and SOAS and a DPhil from Oxford.
