Funding to Gaza has slowed significantly in recent months. The UN-coordinated appeal 2014 for the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt) is 47% funded, which compares with the average of 57% for all UN-coordinated appeals in 2014. Due to a lack of funds, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) suspended emergency work on temporary shelter and repairs in Gaza this week.

The 2015 oPt UN-coordinated appeal requests US$705 million to respond to the humanitarian needs of 1.6 million people in Gaza and the West Bank in 2015.
