Final ODA data for 2016: an initial analysis of key points

An initial analysis of the final ODA data for 2016 released by the OECD DAC at the end of December 2017.

This analysis is based on the 2016 official development assistance (ODA) data released by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Development Assistance Committee (DAC) at the end of December 20171.

Notes

[1] When discussing total ODA received by countries and regions, this briefing includes ODA disbursed by DAC members and multilateral institutions. Disbursements from other government donors are excluded due to incomplete coverage of the data and inconsistencies in reporting practices between DAC members and other government donors.

[2] At time of writing, New Zealand had not supplied final ODA figures to the OECD DAC. Therefore New Zealand’s data is taken from the preliminary ODA data reported in April 2017.
