Start date with DI: October 2014
Where I am based: Kampala, Uganda
What I do: I monitor and record the landscape and provenance of data. As well as mining data and delivering it in usable formats, I help teams to prepare and visualise the information. I also perform research and analysis to support our Joined-up Data Standards work, and projects around the data revolution.
Previous experience: I have worked on the discovery, provenance, harvesting, manipulation and analysis of data for both public and private sectors.
Previously I worked with DI as a Research Analyst Trainee. Prior to that I worked for the Uganda Bureau of Statistics as a Macroeconomics Statistician, consulted with REEV Consult International and other independent consultants as a Methodological/Statistical Expert, and performed financial analyst trainee work with the Bank of Uganda. I also worked as a Teaching Assistant at high schools in Uganda.
I have built experience in statistical computing; data and statistics; surveys monitoring and evaluation policy and research analysis; institutional capacity building; operations research and quality control; decision theories; and applied statistics (such as financial, agricultural and industrial statistics). I hold a BSc in Statistics (first class honours) from Makerere University, and I’m currently studying for an MSc in Quantitative Economics.
