What I do: I am responsible for the development and implementation of the business strategy and operational management, covering:
- Resource planning
- Policies, procedures and systems
- Overseeing management of global operations
- Legal compliance
- Leading business-development strategy for consultancy and not-for-profit
- Human Resources, Financial Management and Project Management
Other experience: I’ve managed Human Resources and Operations both in the UK and in an international setting, and have over twenty years’ experience across a range of sectors that include: education, housing, charity, not-for-profit, private consultancy and blue-chip professional services. While my professional background has been within the field of HR, as my career progressed I branched out into strategic and organisational management – encompassing HR, finance, IT and facilities – and I played a pivotal role in the original set up of Development Initiatives Poverty Research in 2008.
I am on the Board of Directors at a housing society; we meet at least six times a year and have financial and strategic oversight of the organisation. I am also on their Remuneration and Nominations Committee.
Likes: People who collaborate effectively, long walks with my springer spaniel to clear the mind, and a quality bottle of white wine
