Start date with DI: January 2016
Where I am based: Kampala, Uganda
What I do: I manage and support DI’s key partnerships with government, government agencies and our other partners in Uganda to increase access to and the use of development data. I focus on building, maintaining and delivering key projects through these partnerships, ensuring the links between DI’s local projects connect to the organisation’s strategy. I also contribute to DI’s work harnessing the data revolution at subnational, national, regional and global level.
Previous experience: I spent six years working to promote open data and the data revolution in Uganda, through coordinating the local data ecosystem as a Governance and Transparency Analyst for Development Research and Training. I also spent four years working in media in Uganda, including as a writer for the Daily Monitor, one of the country’s major dailies where I covered technology and society, politics, and governance and transparency issues.
