Start date with DI: February 2016
Where I am based: Kampala, Uganda
What I do: I am a web developer working with the Communications Team, primarily on the data hub and filling in resource gaps on different web development tasks and needs across DI.
Previous experience: I started out as a 3D technical artist at a creative agency called Addmaya, writing Python scripts for animation software packages and taking part in the 3D animation creation, Pipeline. Later, I got to double as a developer working on a variety of websites for clients such as the Uganda Communications Commission and Maad advertising agency.
I left Addmaya after a year and a half to work on consultancy basis with Intelworld on a number of projects for MTN Uganda, involving data visualisation for business intelligence as a software developer.
I have also worked with DI’s Development Research and Training on an open-data platform that among other things enables different open-data players to create workspaces for hosting and sharing data sets.
Likes: Coding, 3D computer animation, anime, acoustic music, robots
