New budgetary website makes Dutch aid more transparent

Many congratulations to the Dutch Minister for international trade and development cooperation on the launch of her department’s budgetary webpage yesterday. The new website provides full access to the ministry’s overall budget, with estimated and actual expenditures which are cross-referenced with their individual activities, driven from live IATI data.

The site also enables users to examine these individual activities, with a direct link to . In line with the Netherland’s IATI publication, the data on the website will be renewed every month to enable monitoring of the actual expenditures.

By using their IATI data for management purposes, the Dutch government are maximising the benefits of IATI’s “publish once, use often” approach to data, and providing an excellent model of transparency that we hope others will follow.
