Donors pledge US$529m at South Sudan conference – US$1.2bn of requirements unmet
Pledges are higher than 2014, but pre-conference commitments lower
Donors pledged US$529 million in new money at the high level meeting on South Sudan, hosted by the UN and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development, in Nairobi on 9 February. At the humanitarian donor conference on South Sudan in May 2014, US$480 million was pledged for the country response, an additional US$71 million was pledged for the regional response.

Notes
- The May to December commitments are calculated subtracting contributions made before the 2014 conference, through the conference and the unmet needs amount from the total requested through the UN appeals that year.
- The figure of 1.2bn unmet needs in 2015 assumes that all pledges will be committed against. As of 11 February 2015 it is not mentioned whether pledges for the RRP are included.
