Having joined DI in April 2016 as Senior Manager for Strategic Partnerships & Data Use, Angela brings a wealth of knowledge about DI’s work in the region to her new role. She also has more than 13 years of prior professional experience, including nine years at international non-profit organisation Aidspan.
As Head of Africa Office, Angela will take DI’s presence in Africa forward for the future and ensure DI continues to deliver its vision: to end poverty and build a world where everyone shares in the benefits of opportunity and growth. The Africa Office delivers DI’s strategy in Africa with a specific focus on East Africa. Our projects in the region provide on-the-ground evidence to support the organisation’s wider goals, such as increasing data use from a subnational to a global level.
Angela said, “I’m absolutely thrilled and also humbled by this appointment, and by the warm reception I’ve received from so many of my colleagues and friends across all of our offices and beyond. I am fully committed to succeeding in this new role and to ensuring our presence in Africa is solid and globally renowned.”
Harpinder Collacott, Executive Director at Development Initiatives said, “I am looking forward to working with Angela and taking the Africa Office to the next level. We truly believe in the important work we are doing in Africa, and would like to make sure DI continues to contribute in the efforts to end poverty in East Africa and beyond. We are looking forward to working with more governments, donors and local CSO partners to eradicate poverty by 2030 and achieve the Global Goals.”
