Ana Toni on domestic poverty eradication schemes

Ana Toni, special adviser to Development Initiatives and Chair of Greenpeace International is a partner in the company Public Interest Management and a specialist in poverty and inequality in Latin America. She served as the first Executive Director of ActionAid Brazil, and was the Ford Foundation’s representative in Brazil in the 2000s. Here she talks about Bolsa Familia, a poverty eradication cash-transfer programme from Brazil and the transformative effect that targeted resources can have in ending poverty. Our Investments to End Poverty report  considers initiatives such as these and the impact they could have on ending extreme poverty by 2030.
