What is Zakat and what is its relevance to humanitarian assistance? To what extent is it currently used to support humanitarian response? What is the potential of Zakat as a source of humanitarian financing? What are the barriers to Zakat achieving its humanitarian potential and how might these be overcome?
Join our panel event in London on 26 March 2015 to explore these questions and mark the launch of a new study from the Global Humanitarian Assistance (GHA) Programme, An Act of Faith: Humanitarian Financing and Zakat.
The event will be chaired by Abdurahman Sharif, Director of Muslim Charities Forum, and opening remarks will be given by Jemilah Mahmood, Chief of the World Humanitarian Summit (WHS) Secretariat.
